About Sockmonkey

My name’s Simon Perks and I help organisations with a strong sense of social purpose to improve what they do and how they do it. I ask the right questions and listen carefully to the answers. I use my skills, knowledge and expertise to make things work better.

I’m a skilled consultant, coach and advisor. I work collaboratively with my clients to help them to understand the challenges they face, to explore their options and to take action to bring about positive change.

I strive to work in a friendly, agile, vibrant and ethical way that makes consultancy something that is done with my clients, rather than to them. I move fast, but I take my clients with me. And I don’t see why we can’t have fun, too.

I founded Sockmonkey in 2011 after a decade working in the public sector practice of a large, international consultancy firm, because I wanted to do more to help and support organisations that are trying to make our world a better place.

I bring to my work a high level of insight and clarity of thought, together with a friendly and personal approach and the flexibility and responsiveness that come from running a small business.

I’m based in Somerset but work with organisations across the UK and beyond. My clients include government agencies, universities, research organisations, local authorities, professional organisations, sports development bodies, charities, trade unions and more.
