I’m pleased to report that I’ve recently taken on two exciting voluntary roles with the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA), which is the professional body for people in public finance and which helps organisations across the public sector to deliver efficient and high quality services.
Firstly, I have recently been elected Vice President of the Institute’s South West regional council, a post that I will hold alongside my existing role as Honorary Secretary. The regional council works hard to support members across the South West, through a range of activities focused on professional and personal development and through liaison with public sector organisations and other finance and accounting bodies.
Secondly, I have been invited to join the Institute’s national ‘Charities and Social Enterprises’ panel, which helps to inform CIPFA’s work on finance and policy issues relating to charities and the wider voluntary and community sector and seeks to support people and organisations working in these areas.
I’m delighted to have these opportunities to contribute to the work of the Institute and to be able to use my skills, experience and expertise to support CIPFA’s members and the organisations in which they work. You can find out more about CIPFA online and you can learn more about the South West regional council via its webpages.
